How can customers sign up for new arrival notifications?

Customers choose the categories they want to hear about, and your New Arrival emails tell them when new items arrive there. You switch sign-up on at Website › Marketing › New Arrival Notification, in the Sign-up card.

Turning sign-up on

  1. Turn on Let customers sign up on your website and click Save Settings.
  2. Open each category customers should be able to follow and set New Arrival Notifications to Include. (Choose the categories on the settings page takes you there.) The Topics open for sign-up figure counts them.
  3. Set a schedule in the Schedule card, or nobody is sent anything. See Managing your New Arrival emails.

Where customers sign up

  • The notifications page on your website lists every open category to tick. Sign-up page on your site on the settings page opens it.
  • Their account: a signed-in customer reaches the same list from their account pages.
  • Category pages: a sign-up prompt appears beside the results of a category that is open for notifications.

If you turned on Offer an “other interests” box on the sign-up form, customers can also describe interests your categories do not cover. See who signed up on the settings page shows the sign-ups.

With Subscribe every new account to every open category on, a new account is signed up to everything at once and has to opt out. Most shops leave it off and let customers pick.

Changing or stopping notifications

Every New Arrival email can carry two links, which you place in the email's wording: a manage link, where the customer ticks or unticks categories, and an unsubscribe link, which removes them from every category in one click. You can also change a customer's categories on their customer record. See Managing customers.

Common questions

A customer says they stopped getting the emails. What do I check?

Go to Reports › Customers › Email Reports, type their address under Did someone get it? and click Check. It tells you whether they are confirmed, which categories they follow, whether those are still included, whether anything new is waiting and whether their address is suppressed.

Why does a customer get no email some weeks?

An email only goes out when something new has arrived in the categories they follow.

I switched sign-up off. What happens to subscribers?

The sign-up disappears from your site, but existing subscribers and their choices are kept.
