BookRouter is the inventory platform Bibliopolis has built for booksellers. Connect your own Etsy shop and BookRouter lists the books from your catalog that meet Etsy's requirements for vintage items, then keeps quantity and price accurate as your stock moves.

This integration is in development and pending Etsy's API review. It is not yet available to BookRouter sellers.

What it does
Three jobs, handled for you
Your books are already cataloged in BookRouter. The integration puts the vintage portion of that catalog to work on Etsy, within Etsy's rules, without asking you to keep a second one by hand.
Only Etsy-eligible books qualify.
Etsy welcomes vintage items that are at least twenty years old, and the integration is built around that rule. Every book's publication year is checked before it can be offered, so a listing Etsy would not accept is never created.
Your catalog becomes listings.
Books you choose from your eligible stock are listed in your Etsy shop, carrying the title, description, condition, price and photographs you have already recorded. Nothing is re-keyed into a second system.
Quantity and price stay accurate.
Most antiquarian stock is a single copy. When a book sells elsewhere, BookRouter updates the quantity on Etsy so a buyer is never offered a copy you no longer have; when you reprice in BookRouter, the listing follows.
Who it is for
Independent and antiquarian booksellers
Bibliopolis has built software for the book trade for more than twenty-five years. BookRouter customers are independent bookshops, antiquarian and rare book dealers, and specialist sellers whose stock is largely single copies, described by hand, one book at a time.
Etsy suits that kind of stock. Buyers there are already looking for vintage and one-of-a-kind goods, and a carefully described old book sits naturally among them. What those sellers do not have is time to maintain a second catalog, which is exactly the job this integration takes off their desk.
Connecting your shop
You connect your own shop
BookRouter never asks for your Etsy password. You authorize the connection on Etsy, and it is yours to end at any time.
Choose Connect in BookRouter.
Once the integration is available, Etsy will appear in the Marketplaces area of your BookRouter admin. Choosing Connect sends you to Etsy to sign in.
Approve it on Etsy.
You sign in to your own Etsy account on Etsy, choose the shop you want to connect, and see exactly which permissions BookRouter is asking for before you approve. Your sign-in details are never entered on our site and we never see them.
Decide what gets listed.
Nothing is published until you say so. Choose the books, categories or catalogs you want to offer; only those that meet Etsy's vintage requirements are listed, and BookRouter keeps them current as your stock moves.
Etsy's requirements
Compliance is built in, not bolted on
Etsy allows vintage items that are at least twenty years old, and the integration applies that rule for you. Every book's publication year is checked automatically, and only books that qualify as vintage can be offered for listing. There is no way to send Etsy an item that does not meet the marketplace's criteria.
Listing is deliberate, never bulk. You choose the books, categories or catalogs to offer, new listings are created at a measured pace, and expired listings are never renewed without your say-so. The result is an Etsy shop that stays within Etsy's policies by design.

What BookRouter asks for.
Etsy shows you this list when you approve the connection. It is scoped to running your shop and nothing else.
Your data, your control
Held for fulfillment, and nothing else
When a book sells on Etsy, the integration reads the order so you can pack and post the parcel and keep a record of the sale. That is the only reason order details come into BookRouter. They are stored in your own BookRouter account, are never sold, and are never shared for advertising.
The integration does not write reviews, message buyers on your behalf, or reach any shop other than the one you connected. It works with your listings and reads your orders only for fulfillment, which is what it needs to do the job described above.
You can end the connection whenever you like: disconnect in BookRouter, or revoke access from your Etsy account settings. Either one stops it. Your Etsy listings stay in your shop and your catalog stays in BookRouter.
