A new card on Settings › Shipping Options › Shipping Rates, Shipping by item type, sets shipping for a whole kind of item at once. Ephemera can ship free, framed prints can carry a handling fee per item, maps can have a default weight, and large items can be offered only the shipping methods that suit them.

An item’s own setting still wins: the item type fills in only what the item leaves blank. Each shipping method says which item types it is offered for, the item form shows the shipping rule that applies, and Bulk Edit can set shipping across a selection.
