New Orleans, 1845 One 10 x 16 sheet of lined paper folded once, with writing on three panels, the fourth used as postal cover, folds, tear with loss of writing (Neilson's note) from wax seal being opened, toning, wear else a nice example. William Neilson of New Orleans requests an appointment from the new President for his father (in Baltimore, at the customs house) though he relates in his long letter his own joblessness. On first panel is autograph letter of recommendation signed for Neilson from a John B. Grayson (Capt. Director's Badge from City Airport.
Detroit, 1993 1.5 x 1.5, gold colored metal with blue lettering and a blue rim encircling center image which is that of the seal of Detroit, on the badge: John D. Clark III, Director, City Airport, City of Detroit, Michigan, stamped on the back is March 24, 1993. The "l" in Clark is blurry and stained, light wear else good condition. Detroit City Airport, located at Gratiot and Conner, was built in 1927.
