Stagg, the "grand old man" of college football, was a charter inductee into both the College Football Hall of Fame (as both a player and a coach, the first person thus honored and for several decades the only person thus honored) as well as the Basketball Hall of Fame (he played in the first official basketball game and was influential in the college sport as well). He died in 1965 at the age of 102, and the signature shows, slightly, the infirmities of age. more information
