An interesting piece of Alaskana - the "biography" of the gunboat Politkovsky, built to safeguard Russia's Alaska fur trade but abandoned to the United States at the time of the Alaska Purchase. The "Polly" had a lengthy but less glamorous second life as a harbor tugboat working the ports of Puget Sound. Brown boards. Slight offset to endpapers, dust jacket price-clipped, else near fine.
