[London: Lintot, 1744]. Slim folio, pp. [479]–604. Modern gray boards, very good. Extracted from the 1744 edition of Churchill’s Voyages. The first edition was printed in 1571 in Italian; Ferdinand accompanied his father on the fourth voyage in 1502 and made two later voyages to the New World himself. Much of his account is from personal experience and he also quotes from his father’s notebook which is now lost. “His work is an invaluable document, entitled to great faith, and is the cornerstone of the history of the American continent” - Sabin 14674.
