He refers to his short-lived literary magazine, 'The Signature', which began in 1915, the year of this letter, with John Middleton Murry. "Thank you for your .. wish to subscribe for .. three copies of 'The Signature' .." He gives the address for the magazine explaining that the publication appears, "fortnightly, hence until Christmas. If there is anything else you would like to know, will you please ask me in detail .." He signs, "D.H. Lawrence." Also included is a head and shoulders portrait photograph of the author in black and white. It is a beautiful diagonal side view, where Lawrence dressed in formal black suit and white shirt collar showing, and wearing a hat, is slightly turned toward the front and is looking out over the camera into the distance. A very ethereal, dreamlike kind of look in his eyes. Unsigned. Excellent for framing
